3/17/2010: Notable Solutions AutoStore Rated Highly in New Buyers Lab Review

Notable Solutions AutoStore Rated Highly in New Buyers Lab Review

“. . . one of the most impressive document capture and routing solutions we’ve seen to date.”

Rockville, MD, March 17, 2010, Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, has earned five out of five stars in a new review of its AutoStore document capture platform from Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI). Buyers Lab is a leading independent office-equipment testing lab and business consumer advocate.

Report: “Significant Productivity and Security Benefits”
AutoStore is a server-based application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. According to the report: “NSi AutoStore 5 is a scalable document capture and routing solution that can deliver significant productivity and security benefits across a broad range of industries, including finance, legal, education, healthcare, government, manufacturing and construction.”
"In BLI's in-depth evaluation, NSi AutoStore 5 proved to be one of the most impressive document capture and routing solutions we've seen to date," said Jamie Bsales, senior product editor, Solutions, at BLI. "The range of MFPs and scanners it supports is unmatched, and the solution includes connectors to more than two dozen popular back-end software platforms out of the box."

“Broadest Hardware Compatibility That BLI Has Seen”
BLI performed extensive lab testing of AutoStore with a variety of current and even outdated models of MFPs and was particularly impressed with AutoStore’s compatibility and ease of use with all of them. According to the report: “NSi AutoStore has the broadest hardware compatibility that BLI has seen from any solution in any category offering integration with more than 500 TWAIN-compliant scanner and MFP models from nine leading makers, including Fujitsu, HP, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Mita, Sharp, Xerox, Ricoh, Savin, Lanier and Gestetner.
“What's particularly impressive is that it offers touch-screen integration even with many older models, such as the eight-year-old Ricoh Aficio 1022 (now discontinued), that don't offer a convenient software platform to developers, such as the Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) of newer Ricoh MFPs. With competing third-party scan capture solutions, a costly add-on kiosk is required to support older MFPs.”

Extensive and Free Integration with Document Management and Process Automation Software
BLI was also impressed with AutoStore’s back-end connectivity: “AutoStore comes with 32 connectors to back-end applications free of charge, which is more than other scan-capture solutions BLI has evaluated.”
“BLI has been independently testing office products for nearly 50 years and we’re very proud to have received such a strong review across all categories of the report,” says Mike Morper, vice president of marketing at NSi. “We’ve worked particularly hard to ensure support for the widest range of devices and an end-user interface that’s intuitive and familiar within the context of each device. The report clearly recognizes our success in this regard.”

3/9/2010: AutoStore Workflow Now Provides Capture On-Ramp for DocuWare Document Management System

Notable Solutions AutoStore Workflow Now Provides Capture On-Ramp for DocuWare Document Management System

Certified Solution Captures to DocuWare Repository from Scanners and MFPs

Rockville, MD, March 9, 2010, Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, has released an update to its AutoStore document capture platform which supports capture to the popular DocuWare Document Management System (DMS). AutoStore Workflow is a server-based application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. The new integration with DocuWare version 5.1 enables users to scan directly into a DocuWare repository. If needed, AutoStore can scan once and deliver to multiple applications.

SECURITY AND EFFICIENCY FEATURES

AutoStore protects the security of a DocuWare repository by permitting users to securely log on to their MFP or other scanning device. Once logged on, they may also personalize their scanning, document indexing and output options. AutoStore can automate indexing by recognizing bar codes, and machine-printed characters. Full-text indexing is also available. Output conversion options include PDF and Microsoft Office file formats. Post-capture, AutoStore audits scanning operations to close the loop for security, regulatory compliance and efficiency.

TIGHT INTEGRATION

AutoStore Workflow tightly integrates with the DocuWare system to automatically convert and deliver captured documents into the DMS, correctly name them and generate the appropriate meta-tags. Thus, the documents can be immediately searched and retrieved, used in a business process workflow or meet records management requirements without the need for the user to switch programs or import or convert documents manually.

"Today I don’t have to think about our imaging solution – it just works,” commented Danny Satterlee IT Manager for joint NSi, DocuWare customer Airgas South. “It was our vendor Bits and Bytes Document Solutions that made the AutoStore, DocuWare recommendation and subsequent implementation. Now that we have are live with the system, I feel confident making the recommendation that my Airgas peers across the nation consolidate to this NSi AutoStore, DocuWare solution.”

AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

The update for AutoStore 5.0 with support for DocuWare 5.1 can be downloaded free by selecting the AutoStore Software Updates option within the product.

8/6/2009: Notable Solutions, Inc. to Provide Enterprise Scanning Capabilities for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet

Rockville, MD, August 6, 2009, Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, today announced it has been selected by EDS, an HP company, to provide an enterprise scanning solution on Multi-Function Peripherals (MFPs) for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) program.

Under the terms of the agreement, thousands of MFPs from a wide range of manufacturers including Xerox, HP, Ricoh and Sharp, will have an enterprise scanning capability centrally managed by NSi’s AutoStore platform.

The AutoStore technology supports the integration of over 450 models of MFPs, providing EDS an enterprise platform to manage an international distribution of devices.  EDS has deployed AutoStore servers throughout the United States and Japan to support MFP scanning on military bases and installations worldwide. Navy and Marine Corps users can now utilize a common interface at the panel of an MFP to scan-enable business processes.

“This is a great opportunity to work with EDS to reduce government operating costs by leveraging the Navy and Marine Corps’ existing infrastructure to provide enterprise scanning,” said Nick Caruso, Director of Federal Sales for NSi.  “We are seeing an increased interest by government agencies to fully utilize their existing investments to improve business processes.”

“Within the first month of providing this service for NMCI we received over 1,500 MFP order activation requests,” said Sam Macmillan, account director of U.S. Navy business at EDS, an HP company. “Leveraging NSi’s AutoStore platform with EDS services will enable us to enhance our solution offering to NMCI.”

NMCI includes 363,000 computers serving more than 700,000 sailors, Marines, and civilians in 620 locations in the continental United States, Hawaii and Japan, making it the largest internal computer network in the world.  Deployed in both the classified and unclassified NMCI network, AutoStore has been certified by EDS through an extensive DoD certification and accreditation process.

3/19/2009: AutoStore With new Component for HP Multifunctional Peripherals

Users of HP multifunctional peripherals are now able to efficiently capture documents and automatically process them thanks to AutoStore, the server based middleware from NSi. AutoStore was created to capture, process and route documents and information through automated workflows. This new component is able to embed all MFPs that support HP’s OXPd platform. OXPd stands for eXtensibility Platform for Devices, and fulfills the purpose of creating an open developer’s environment for embedding software of third party manufacturers.

With the OXPd integration, current HP devices like CM 3530 MFP or Edgeline MFD 8050/8060, can be equipped with user-friendly menus for integrating input into electronically dominated business processes. This can be useful, for example, for indexing documents from the front panel of a device before capturing them. Additionally, AutoStore offers a range of processing functions like text and barcode recognition, conversion to PDF/A, Word or Excel and a direct connection to numerous document management systems (DMS).

Integration via Drag & Drop
The new component is the result of intensive teamwork for over eight years between NSi and HP. Enno Arne Lueckel, Managing Director of NSi Europe reports that  “System integrators and users can now add HP devices deeper into business processes with the help of a simple drag and drop menu instead of complex programming.”

The new component is available out-of-the-box with the business solution AutoStore Workflow, and the entry solution AutoStore Express.  AutoStore Express contains a compact package of functions including Abbyy OCR, connection to SharePoint, Notes and several databases. AutoStore Express is available in special trade beginning at 650 Euros / 800 USD. Interested parties may ask for special traders under sales@nsieu.com (EMEA) or sales@nsius.com.
